Explanation:
Water molecules strongly attract each other, linking together to form a tight mesh around each bubble of carbon dioxide gas in the soda. To form a new bubble, water molecules must push away from one another. It takes extra energy to break this surface tension . So, in other words, water resists the expansion of bubbles in the soda.
When mentos is dropped into the coke, the gelatin and gum arabic of Mentos break the surface tension. This disrupts the water mesh, so that it takes less work to expand and form new bubbles.
Each Mentos candy has thousands of tiny pits all over the surface. These tiny pits are called nucleation sites - perfect places for carbon dioxide bubbles to form. As soon as the Mentos hit the soda, bubbles form all over the surface of the candy.
The Mentos quickly sink to the bottom, causing carbon dioxide to be released by the carbonated liquid with which they come into contact along the way.

Description: Mentos and coke consumed together resulted in ruptured stomach. (This is an EXTREMELY POPULAR myth that has been sent to me several times but dear friends, it is a MYTH!!!)

Explanation:
When we drink Coke, the high temperature in the mouth causes the release of carbon dioxide . Thus, there is only a small amount of carbon dioxide left to be released when Mentos is added. This tiny amount of CO2 will be released later through a burp. There goes all the CO2!! ^_^
RUMOUR 3
Description: A tooth left in a glass of Coca-cola for 10 days will dissolve into nothing. (due to the acidity of coke)
Fact or myth: MYTH
Explanation:
Although the acidity of a coke is stronger than that of a vinegar, it is still not strong enough to dissolve a tooth TOTALLY in 10 days time.
An experiment has been conducted where a tooth is soaked in a glass of coke for 20 days- double the days as stated in the rumour. The tooth is still much intact after 20 days. This busted the rumour that coke can dissolve a tooth in 10 days.

* Anything acidity still can decay our teeth although it might not totally dissolve them. Hence, it is better to not drink too much Coca-cola! ^_^

Nienie, Rumour 1 is indeed a fact. I'm sure cos I've tried that before.
I got one more rumour for you. This one I've tried before also, which is coke wipes off rust on my bicycle's and motorbike's rims. Also left a shiny finishing on those rims.
Wonder what will happen if coke is running through our intestines.. But then it's hard to explain. Need to do more experiments to get better results.

you'ver tried it? Cool! I never try cuz I'll probably drink the whole coke and finish the mentos before trying. hahaha! Dun want to waste the thing. XD
