Jobs That I've Taken
People would sometimes ask me if I have taken any part time jobs before. Indeed I have. I've tried several jobs since I seem to be having problem with staying put with one job. Hopefully I won't add to the list below:
1. Waitress cum Cashier at Marrybrown - First job which has the lowest salary. I only earned around RM100 for that sole month I worked there.
2. Clerk for Purchaser Dept. in V.S. Company - An extremely complicated environment which is hard to endure. Maybe it's because V.S. is a big company. Salary is reasonable though. It was also the only time I O.T. until 12a.m. with my CS.
3. Sales assistant at E-Books (IOI Mall) - Holiday work with my Huey. Seems like nobody wanted to be a cashier there so I was always asked to do the job. Can be daunting when there are too many customers.
4. Teacher cum Receptionist at Alpha Tuition Centre - I applied for the tuition teacher post but since they did not have a receptionist, I would always have to do the work of a receptionist. Usually in the day time, there was only me at the centre so if any parents came, I would have to think of a way to split myself in order to meet the parents as well as ensuring the students are well-behaved in the class. Worked full time for one month before I changed to part time so I don't have to become a receptionist.
5. Indoor Sales Assistant at Verbena Pattisierie - It should be the strictest pattisierie you could imagine. This also means working at Verbena is super duper exhausting. 1st rule: Do not stop working even for a second. They emphasize on anything that can make a pattisier the best shop you could find in the town. Quality work, hygiene, outlook, taste, details, speed and so on. Inspection, observation, tests, examination and scrutinisation occured everyday to check on the efficiency of the workers and the quality of the products. And because of this, a newly employed girl who worked for Baker's Cottage before worked at Verbena for hardly half a day before quitting the job. Imagine that. lol! But no matter how many nightmares Verbena has given me, I have to admit that due to their efficient and quality work, the product is nonethelss, of the best quality. That is, I assume, also the reason to the visitation of so many customers as well as the ever-fast-selling products pehnomenon. Clean, fresh and tasty pastries!
6. Sales Assistant at Earthsound Car Accesories - Not my choice of job I would say. I have never been an expert in anything to do with cars. But since it's my cousin's shop and they urgently need helpers, I have no choice but help out. Anyway, I only worked for around 2 weeks.
7. Sales Assistant cum Cashier at Glamous Boutique - Never been good in fashion either. Also my cousins' shop so I just went there to help out. The most relaxing job I've ever done. When they are no customers, we can sit at the sofa and watch TV. In the afternoon, we can have tea breaks. Hungry? Just have some biscuits and a cup of tea/coffee provided. Chatting with XY most of the time. Quite enjoyable.
8. Student Assistant in UTAR - Boring work. Filing work most of the time. It can be quite enjoyable if the filing system in UTAR is more systematic. Ju and I had a hard time looking for files which could not be found at all. But still, happy to be able to work with Ju. Partner in academic, partner at work.
I think that's all. Maybe I left out a job or two. I wouldn't know. So far, that's all I can think of now. ;)

Birdie, oh, Birdie!
Every day when I look out from my room, what do I see?
Yep! A bird. It's seems quite comfortable nesting so near my room. Even when Mummy and I got so close to the bird, it just won't budge. It would move it's head and stare at us as if daring us to go near the nest.
The nest is built on ... clothes hangers. =.='''
Lucky Mummy didn't use those hangers anymore.
Mummy: At first, the bird wants to build its nest on the little basket where we keep our clothes peg. I have no choice but to take the basket in. Who knows... this bird decided to build its nest on the clothes hanger instead.
Me : 'Coz your basket is a ready-made nest ma... XD
Mummy: The bird has even laid an egg.
Me: *Surprise and excited* Really??!!
Mummy: Yup! Go and take a look. *smiles*
After a few days....
From one egg to TWO eggs now! ^_^

Sleepless Night
It's 4.30am and I can't sleep. Don't ask me why. I don't want to talk nor think about it anymore. Have to meet my group members in a few hours time. I wonder if I can concentrate in the group discussion later. No matter what, I know I have to. I'll try.

Dull posts...
I've been wanting to write for so long. I would like to write a new post with all those pictures I have taken these days attached to it. But I can't find the cable that connects my mobile phone to my laptop. Where have I put it? I really have no idea. Without it, I can't transfer my pictures to my laptop. And without the pictures, my posts will be dull. Cable, oh cable! Return to me, please!!

A Day Easy to Remember
This Singapore celebrity couple is getting married. When? Tomorrow! What a great day to get married! On my birthday? So easy for me to remember! lol!! Some of you might recognise them... The guy is from Malaysian anyway...
And how about the couple below?? Both are Singapore artists too and I bet most of you recognise them! Fann Wong and Christopher Lee! Similar to Shaun, Christopher is also from Malaysia. And Christopher and Fann will be registering their marriage on the 16th of May- It's Hsuen Huey's birthday!! Easy to remember too! Hehe!!
The good thing about their wedding is...I have something to watch on TV! Tomorrow Shaun & Michelle's wedding will be live on TV. So at least there's another programme for me to watch to kill time! hehe!

There he is...
I'm not wrong although I've always thought I did. There is a guy making those sounds. For weeks I've been hearing those sounds from time to time but the more I think about it, the more I'm not sure whether the sounds are made by mouse or person. That is also why I constantly tell myself it's mouse. Don't think too much.
But every time I heard the sound I still can't help but think it's not a mouse. So I actually peeped out the last time when I heard the noise. From the small opening, I thought I saw a man standing under the tree outside my house, smoking. But when Boon Pei went to close the wooden door, she said she saw no one there.
There it goes. Again, I thought I was just seeing things.
But tonight it has been confirmed. The first moment I heard the sound, I tapped on Boon Pei's shoulder. She took off her headphone and this time she heard it too. I asked her if it's a mouse or a person because I can't tell anymore. I was surprise to see that Boon Pei actually agreed with me that it sounds more like a person.
She quickly sent a message to her friend, K, to come over and see if there's anyone outside our house. He did. He came on a motorbike.
First round, K saw him. A guy wearing a cap standing under the tree outside my house. K dare not stop since he was alone so he rode on but the guy noticed him.
K made a turn and came back for a second round with a friend, P (also Boon Pei's friend) but the guy had gone.
Where has he gone? I'm not sure. But if he can walk here for so many times, then I assume he must be living nearby.
K and P went back but on their way, they were stopped by the police. Both K and P told them what had happened and so they returned; this time with the police.
Thus, we made our second police report. They asked lots of questions, looked around the tree and the drain in front of our house, shone their torches at the empty house next door, advised us to lock all the doors and to call the police if the guy comes again, jot down the address of our house and left.
So now I'm sure. Sure that I didn't hear nor see wrongly. Gosh... have to be extra alert.

Guiness Semester Record
These are the newest record for this semester:
1. Most assignments in a semester. (>20)
2. Skip classes.
3. Sleep deprivation. (now sleep at later than 4am in the morning. The total amount of sleep in 3 days together doesn't even reach 8 hours. No wonder every afternoon I'll drop into coma)
4. Overslept. (I must be very tired to oversleep so many times.)
5. Spend most of my days thinking about holidays or when can I have proper sleep.
6. Telling stories about one person. (I don't know if this is accurate. Last time it's another girl.)
Did I miss out anything??

She Replied!
I was thinking for so long who shall I interview for my feature writing assignment. I asked several people- friends, Mum, Dad, whoever you can think of but none can give me a good idea. Seriously, I was getting desperate. If I don't find a person soon, I'll be doomed.
But I ran out of idea. I can't do Dr. Carmen because too many people did a feature on her. I can't do Dr. Toshiko either because I heard Ian is going to feature her. So who should I feature?? Headache for weeks just to think of ONE person for me to feature.
Then Sarah told me she's going to feature Mr. Renu....and this memory from my subconscious mind suddenly pops out: Mr. Renu came over to chat with us before class. He said, "Do you know the latest Miss Malaysia is from UTAR? Broadcasting student if I'm not mistaken."
This sudden idea of featuring Miss Malaysia makes me excited. Of course I'm not sure whether she'll agree to let me interview her out of her tight schedule. I expect her to be too busy for me to interview. But all the same, I looked her up online, found her e-mail address and sent her a message.
She replied! Oh My God! I can't believe my eyes!!
I'm so excited and nervous. Hope that everything will go smoothly for me. Hmm...What questions shall I ask? I don't have much experience in interviewing people. Maybe I could do with a little help from my friends? What would you suggest? Any ideas??

Impromptu Speech and Applied Linguistics
It shouldn't turn out like this. I should be able to overcome the psychological barrier of presenting publicly by now. But my impromptu speech that day was such a failure. Maybe I'm just not made to present unprepared. Sigh. I must get back on my feet. I can't go on being so low in confidence like I used to. Public Speaking and Oral Presentation- one of the subjects I'm so worried about. I must catch up with my progress in speaking no matter how. I must learn to relax. I must learn to accept challenges and work out my way.
I'm beginning to wonder going for further studies is a good idea. Of course it isn't a bad idea to become a lecturer but I don't think I'm up to the level of teaching university students yet. There's a lot more for me to improve to reach that level. Plus I'm really not sure if I love that job. In fact, I'm not sure what I want to be
Anyway, I did some research on the courses which I could take. Applied linguistics sounds interesting. But what really caught my eye is that it is related to areas other than the academic field- education, linguistics, psychology, anthropology, sociology or even criminology! Interesting huh...At least if I take this course I know my career prospect won't be restricted to only the education field. I would have more choices.
I'm more determined to take Applied Linguistics now that I have done this little research. Not 100% determine but more than before I google-searched it. XD

4 More Days to CNY 2009
The title looks familiar, huh? Yep! I did the same thing (counting down to festivals by posting blogs) during Christmas. But no... this time I don't think I really have the time to post new entries everyday. It still depends on my mood and time.
I can't wait for CNY. It's coming soon. Can I enjoy my CNY with all the assignments on hand? Well, I certainly hope so. Usually I will finish all my work before CNY comes but I think it's quite impossible to complete everything pre-CNY once I enter the stage of university life. And there's an addition to the amount of assignments I have now- FYP. It's impossible to finish FYP before CNY right? So I don't think I can really enjoy CNY with FYP bothering me. Yikes! Better not be too pessimistic about it. If FYP is easy then it wouldn't be a "FYP". What am I talking about? Crapping as usual. lol!
Weird... I thought I would have lots to write. I have the ideas (e.g. about my new housemates, outing with my brother, poor Anita's predicament, etc.) but I just don't feel like putting everything into words tonight. Next day perhaps. Or maybe the day will never come (since CNY is coming) :P.
Sorry if this new entry is a bit of a disappointment. Just feel like crapping. Today's blog is just for the sake of 'writing blogs'. :P
*** To poor Anita whose car was stolen: Hope you feel better now. Cheer up, gal!

2009 了！！
终于来到了2009年！时间实在过得太快了！这年将会是我在UTAR 的最后一年了。在多九个月。过了这九个月我就毕业了！！加油吧！！
才发现今年有许多想完成的事情都未完成。也怪不得人。谁叫我那么懒呢？嘻嘻！想要看到好成果当然就必须多努力才行啦。总不能光靠运气吧。
所以呢，今年我必须有些改进。除了在性格，品行方面还有一点是我希望有所改进的。那就是我的语言能力。英语需要再掌握好。还有，如果可以，我也希望能够打好华语基础。 说华语这方面虽然有时会口齿不清但其实我觉得我还可算是蛮流利的。至于写作和用词方面嘛。。。我就真的需要再加把劲儿了。
如果能够掌握好这两种语言，未来要找工作应该也会比较顺利吧。不能说会前途无量。只能说选择比较多。找到合适的工作的机会也会比较高。况且我又那么爱说华语，如果能够找到一份工作是能够说华语又可以用英文，那应该还蛮不错的吧。
一直以来我都是自己进修华语的。在这样继续下去应该也不成问题吧。毕竟有了兴趣就有了心理准备要学习。
说来说去最后还是必须努力才行。还真的很懒耶。。。在看吧！惨了。。。我真的是无药可救了！哇！！！

Look up the words in your dictionary! Hahaha! Well...I might translate it when I'm free. I get this idea of having my blog available in 2 languages from Wu Zun's blog---->meisim and suesin's idol but it takes time to do the translation. So it all still comes back to whether I'm free or not. If I'm free, I might do it. It also depends on my mood. Hehe! Wait~lah...you never know when I'm bored and translate every entries into 2 languages! XD
*P/S: Do not laugh if there are any errors. After all, I'm from a national primary school who only had a few years of Chinese tuition classes. (anyway, I've forgotten most of what I've learned in the tuition classes. SSSSSSHHHHHHHHhhhh!!!! Don't let my tuition teachers know that! XD)

Christmas Day
It's Christmas!! And I met Hsuen Huey (again). We went to Sweet Dynasty with Yen Fang and her boyfriend. Finally I get to meet her boyfriend. Hmm...her boyfriend's not bad. Looks like those gentleman type with a sense of humour at times.
Mum thought I was going to go to church when I said I'm going to meet Hsuen Huey and Yen Fang on Christmas day (Huey and Fang are both Christians). Frankly speaking, it's quite frustrating to see mum jumping into that conclusion. Probably she still thinks I want to be a Christian when in fact, I just want to remain a free thinker.
But then, so what if I've been to a church or a mosque or whatever? I've been to a church when Huey was baptized but it was just because I want to attend the ceremony which Huey (one of my best friends) thinks is an important event to her. Partly it's also because I'm curious what they do when one is being baptized. But I still have no intention of becoming a Christian. I didn't pray when they are praying nor do I donate money to the church when they did. I just watched.
So what if I put my hands together as if I'm praying? It'll probably be an act of respect (like you have to take off your shoes when you enter a mosque or when you take joss sticks when you're a Christian). I'm not going to really pray or what (no offense to Christians) because I still have no intention of becoming a Christian.
Many friends of mine have been telling me about the Christianity (or some have urge me to become one). I respect the religion like I respect Buddhism. I've thought a lot through the years and I've already concluded years ago that I want to remain a free thinker. A free thinker who respects every religion even though I'm not a follower. A free thinker who is allowed to learn the different religions. I really don't wish to see mum jumping to the conclusion that I want to be a Christian nor restrict me from learning the different religions I'm interested to know. I can assure you I really just want to remain a free thinker.
If I have not decided that I just want to be a free thinker, I would already have become a Christian by now (judging by the exposure to Christianity and Christian friends I have). Don't worry. I'm a free thinker and in the years to come, I know I will still be a free thinker.
Sorry to disappoint you friends if you have any intention of converting me into a Christian.
Anyway, I'm glad I managed to finish my tenancy agreement in the afternoon. Although it was mostly cut and paste work :P, overall I'm quite satisfied with it. At least i finished the thing and that means I have one thing less to worry about! I just hope it can pass as an agreement and that it wont pose any problems to me later on.

Mum thought I was going to go to church when I said I'm going to meet Hsuen Huey and Yen Fang on Christmas day (Huey and Fang are both Christians). Frankly speaking, it's quite frustrating to see mum jumping into that conclusion. Probably she still thinks I want to be a Christian when in fact, I just want to remain a free thinker.
But then, so what if I've been to a church or a mosque or whatever? Christmas Eve
It's Christmas Eve! Love Christmas eve! And it's my parents' wedding anniversary. Nice right? But I feel quite out of place being at home. You know...don't want to be a lamp post..hahaha!
That's why I went to Hsuen Huey's house with Koi Kent. Asked him to give me a ride since he wants to go to her house. Thanks for the ride la! Well, at the same time, I can visit Hsuen Huey's parents. They are still so nice. We chatted for some time while waiting for Hsuen Huey's return.
It's been a long time since I met Hsuen Huey. Miss my pighead a lot! LOL! She and Koi Kent are still the same. They still like to bicker with me. They don't even give me 'face'...but surprisingly, I miss bickering with my friends here A LOT! XD
Is it usual to love bickering with your friends? I dunno....hehe!

Never thought she would bring her boyfriend to meet us so early. I thought the earliest we can see her boyfriend is during the coming CNY. I'm not complaining. lol! But I'll have to plan and see if I can make it tomorrow night.

2 More Days to Christmas
The new semester's timetable is out. It is the worse timetable I ever had.
Class until 7.30pm?? That's crazy! It would be dangerous to walk home at night.
Tutorial 1 and 2 are separated even for lecture classes?? Well, I couldn't figure out why should we be separated for every subject.
Classes on Saturdays?? Lucky it's not for Tutorial 2 students. I rather pity Tutorial 1 though.
I bet we won't sit idly following this timetable. So let's strive for a new timetable!

4 More Days to Christmas
I've been doing a lot of painting these days. It's the end of the year and the 20+ years old house needs a new look. And so I'm given this task to make it look 'new'. Don't get the wrong idea. I didn't paint the whole house but I did paint those little stuff like the doors, etc. LOL!!
It's quite tiring when you're doing painting ALL DAY but anyway, it's fun. A lot better than staying in PJ and brooding over unhappy thoughts. ;)
Anyway, 4 days to Christmas!!! Yay!!! *counting down*

5 More Days to Christmas
I'm finally home. I'll be staying here for only 10 days before going back to PJ but I don't mind. At least I'm home now. I'm home for Christmas!! Yay!!
Whatever problems yet to be solved will have to wait till after Christmas! Well, I can't help but feeling more relax (and more cheerful! Yes!) when I'm home. You might think it's because I'm lazy. Whatever! :P LOL!!

We're So Like That!
